Bonnie Yung
YUNG, Sin-Kan, Bonnie was born and raised in Hong Kong, a multicultural city. Her music often draws inspiration from tiny moments of daily life, yet there is no lack of philosophical notions in it. Her music is well-articulated and daring, often filled with great polarities. Her experience in Estonia and her interest in poetry and literature adds a distinctive taste to her creation.
Chet Pong
PONG, Pak-Kan, Chet is a composer of acoustic and electroacoustic music. While his sonic approach is rooted in experimental and classical music, his creative projects are inspired by various non-musical influences such as the visual arts and literature. PONG started his formal education in music at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts under the supervision of Steve Hui and Poly Ng. He was selected as a finalist in Toolbox Percussion International Composition Competition 2021 and given a fellowship under the guidance of Bun-Ching Lam. In 2022, he was selected as a composer of the SoundMine festival in Belgium under the guidance of Wim Henderickx and Jorrit Tamminga. PONG has been awarded second runner-up in New Generation 2022, and selected finalist in HKAF 2022 Arts X Tech Creative Competition. His music has been performed by New Morse Code, Dawning Quartet and Windpipe Chinese Music Ensemble.
Joshua Wat
With focus on instrumental idioms, with expressions of identity and obscurity, with inspirations from sounding elements from Hong Kong, Joshua Wat has written for orchestra, choir, solo instruments and electronics. He is currently based in Sweden and has received several competition prizes and awards for his work.
Tsz Long Yu
TSZ, Long-Yu, Fish is a Hong Kong composer who is based in Toronto. He is now pursuing his Master of Music degree at the University of Toronto with a full scholarship supported by The Hong Kong Scholarship for Excellence Scheme, majoring in Music Technology & Digital Media. He is interested in exploring the relationship between acoustic sound and real-time digital signal processing in his music composition.
Sampson Li
LI, Cheuk-Shing, Sampson is a Hong Kong composer. He is graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University and he has studied composition with Camilo Mendez. He was selected in Toolbox Percussion composition competition, New Generation 2022 and Hong Kong New Music Ensemble’s Sonic-Visual Interplay (CoLAB). He has also participated in the contemporary music workshop at Hong Kong Baptist University and has attended international courses/ festivals, such as "Improv summer 2019", where he joined the masterclass of Tim O’Dwyer, and "Improvise! 2021" as part of Shared Campus.
