TICA 2019
The 1st edition of Toolbox International Creative Academy (TICA) took place in Hong Kong between 7-12 January 2019, where we explored Innovative Performance Technique on Strings and Percussion. TICA is an annual event organized by Toolbox Percussion, Co- presented by the University of Oklahoma and in association with the Education University of Hong Kong, with participants from all over the world, a full list of concerts, lectures, panel discussion, workshops was designed to allow the audience to explore and enjoy.
The 6th edition of TICA's percussion programme will be led by David Herbert, Principal Timpanist of Chicago Symphony.
TICA's string program will be co-led by Min-Jeong Koh of Cecilia String Quartet and Patrick Yim of Hong Kong Baptist University.
TICA is a Toolbox Percussion Initiative, it is supported by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and U.S. Consulate General Hong Kong and Macau.
Toolbox PERCUSSION International COMPOSITION COMPETITION
Toolbox Percussion International Composition Competition (TPICC) aims to explore the possibilities in the collaboration between percussion and other instruments. Through international call for participation, in the first year, the competition focuses on percussion and strings. The Herbert Composition Prize, named after our Honorary President Prof.
David Herbert, features works that are written for percussion and cello, for which the three final works are performed by Prof.
David Herbert and Oliver Herbert, the top prize winner of the XI Witold Lutoslawski International Cello Competition.
