Gina DiBello

Gina DiBello was appointed to to the first violin section of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in 2013. Previously, she was Principal Second Violin of the Minnesota Orchestra for four seasons and prior to that, a member of the first violin section of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Gina then went on to study at the Cleveland Institute of Music and The Juilliard School in New York. Recent chamber music recordings include Asako Hirabayashi’s “The Harpsichord in the New Millenium” and Kalevi Aho’s Clarinet Quintet.

 

An advocate of contemporary music, DiBello is a founding member of the collective New Music Detroit. Other recent appearances include concerts with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra.
