Toolbox Percussion, as a creative incubator, works to make new music happen by commissioning, producing, collaborating, professional training, performing, recording, and touring contemporary performances. TICAFEST Composition Fellowship Programme is for emerging composers across the globe who share our vision to create percussive arts practices with creativity, originality, and potentials. This programme encourages creativity and continuous cross-platform learning.

About the Fellowship

The Toolbox International Creative Academy offers an unparalleled opportunity for an exchange of ideas with some of the world’s foremost composers and performers of new music. The TICA Composer Fellowship Programme provides five composer fellows with a variety of perspectives and teaching styles in a hybrid and intensive six-month program between May to Oct 2025.

Students will work intimately with TICA faculty, Creative Director-in-residence, guest composers, teaching artist ensemble, as well as Toolbox Percussion Artists. Masterclasses, lectures, and individual studies will be given by some of today’s most highly regarded and frequently performed living composers.

Fellows will be tasked with a chamber music commission for work between 8 and 12 minutes in length for the Artists from Toolbox Percussion.

Instrumentation: For percussion duo and one optional percussionist, details will be announced in February.

Final Performance: November 2025 in Seoul
